The home industry has had brilliant resources added to its arsenal of tools to help homeowners create beauty in their homes. These resources have not only helped us communicate style on a clearer level than ever before (Thanks Houzz!), they have also made project calendars and budgets available online in ‘real time’ so our clients feel more apart of the process.
One of the resources we use on almost all of our projects is an online mood board creator by an Australian company called “Style Sourcebook”. It really helps us, along with our clients, visualize a space on a whole new level!
We are currently in the process of expanding and renovating the Infinite Home offices. A huge part of our design process starts with creating mood boards. Mood boards are such an easy way to “try before you buy” when it comes to deciding on materials, colors, and the general style and feel of a space. We love starting out on Pinterest by finding interior style inspiration. Our designers also take a huge consideration on need and how to make the space as useful as possible. Once these are decided, we use Style Sourcebook to create collages of our designs, breaking up each board by room. A good practice is to be as detailed as possible, noting colors, materials, and anything else that may be helpful.
