OUR DESIGN-BUILD PROCESS
Yes, your home is important- but so is your life. Home design is not a simple process, and it can lead to headaches, stress, and major loss of time. That is why we are here: to take as much of that load off of you as possible. How do we do that? Through this tried-and-true process.

Timeframe: 1-hour home visit, with a Design Development Agreement delivered on site.
Step 1 – Complimentary Home Visit: Let’s Dream Together
Before we draw a single line, we get to know you. After a quick initial call, we schedule an in-person visit to walk through your home, hear your goals, and review anything you’ve been dreaming up—Pinterest boards, magazine cutouts, Houzz idea books included.
We’ll talk through your must-haves, any functional challenges you’re facing, and the kind of life you want to live in your new space. At this time, we’ll also advise you of any foreseeable concerns (like structural or zoning issues) and take initial measurements. After the visit, you’ll receive a Design Development Agreement outlining the scope and your desired investment.
Investment: $5,000-$15,000 investment depending on the size of the project.
Timeframe: Varies by project
Step 2 – Design Development: Shaping the Vision
This is where the ideas begin to take shape. We gather detailed information about your home—3D scans, measurements, photos, and any available surveys. You’ll meet with our design team for an in-depth interview, ensuring we fully understand your needs and priorities. From there, we present schematic drawings and layout options. You’ll tell us what you love (or don’t), and we’ll refine the plan until it reflects your vision. We also prepare an initial investment estimate tied to the design.
Once we land on a clear path forward—both in design and budget—we move into the next phase: Pre-Construction.
Investment: Roughly 10% of the total estimated cost (applied toward construction agreement)
Timeframe: Varies by project
Step 3 – Pre-Construction: Making It Real
Here, the design comes to life. We fine-tune the drawings and begin selecting materials, finishes, and fixtures. You'll see 3D renderings and explore selections hands-on in our design studio, guided by our team every step of the way.
While you’re finalizing design details, our construction team is behind the scenes securing permits, consulting trade partners, and, if needed, coordinating with a structural engineer. We may even do light demo to uncover hidden conditions early.
At the end of this phase, you’ll receive a comprehensive Construction Agreement that includes your final plans, specs, selections, and fixed investment. Once approved through Builder Trend, it’s time to build.

Step 4 – The Build: Bringing It All to Life
Now the transformation begins. Your dedicated Superintendent leads the charge, starting with a pre-construction meeting at your home. We’ll walk through every detail, take extra care to protect your space, and minimize disruptions to your day-to-day.
Throughout the build, your Project Manager will send daily and weekly updates, and our team is always just a call away. We maintain a safe, clean, and respectful work environment—and keep you in the loop every step of the way.

Timeframe: At completion, 60 days post-project, and one year post-project
Step 5 – Home Care: We've Got You
Once construction wraps, we deep-clean and schedule a final walkthrough with David and Laurel. You’ll receive your Renovation Handbook, which includes everything you need: selections, care instructions, warranties, and change orders.
Our team will check in at 60 days and again at one year to ensure everything’s performing beautifully. Our 2-year workmanship warranty gives you peace of mind, and our Home Care team is here for anything you need.
